Trout Nursery
Our nursery located on Martin Rd, just outside Boiling Springs is one of the largest co-op nurseries on the east coast. Each summer the PA Fish Commission gives us 35,000 or so fingerling trout to raise. Volunteers fill the automatic feeders each morning and clean any clogged screens. The hatchery manager (also a volunteer) keeps the nursery running and makes sure the fish are healthy. The next spring we begin stocking these fish in PUBLIC water on the upper Yellow Breeches creek.
We feed the fish a special food that results in faster growth and unbelievably bright colors.

Stocking Day
We stock 20 miles of creek, eight times, at about 30 points, most of which are float stocked.

YBAC children’s derby
YBAC sponsors or supports various children’s fishing derbies throughout the year by donating fish. Check the newsletter, Facebook, and this web site for upcoming dates.

YBAC Pig roast
The YBAC pig roast is now an annual event. It will be held sometime in September or early October. This event will also include a small outdoor show with local venders.

Get Involved
Whether through volunteering, membership, or supporting the organizationโs programs, there are many ways to help protect the Yellow Breeches watershed and support the future of local fisheries and conservation efforts.
