Become a Member of YBAC

Become part of a community dedicated to conservation, stewardship, and the future of the Yellow Breeches. Membership in Yellow Breeches Anglers & Conservation Association (YBAC) helps support trout raising and stocking, nursery operations, conservation efforts, and the continued preservation of one of Pennsylvania’s most treasured waterways. Whether you are a lifelong angler or simply passionate about protecting local natural resources, your membership plays an important role in sustaining the organization’s mission and volunteer-driven work throughout the year.

What Does Your Membership Pay For?

This is a fair question.

Yellow Breeches Anglers & Conservation Association is an entirely volunteer-driven organization. There are no paid positions within the club. Everything is accomplished by dedicated members who generously donate their time, skills, and effort throughout the year.

Your annual $20 membership fee directly supports the trout raising and stocking program that benefits the Yellow Breeches Creek. The largest expense is fish food, which currently costs approximately $30,000 per year. To put that into perspective, it would take roughly 1,500 memberships to cover the cost of fish food alone.

Membership funds also help support:

  • Nursery operations and maintenance
  • Equipment repairs and replacement
  • Facility upkeep
  • Stocking activities
  • Unexpected expenses, such as damage caused by severe weather and flooding

One example was the significant flood damage sustained by the nursery in 2018, which required substantial recovery efforts and repairs.

Making a Difference

In simple terms, your membership helps cover the cost of raising approximately 20 trout each year. These trout are carefully raised by YBAC volunteers and are known for being healthy, colorful, and larger than many anglers expect.

By becoming a member, you are directly supporting conservation, trout stocking, and the continued success of one of Pennsylvania’s most respected cooperative nursery programs.
