Volunteer Opportunities
Help Protect and Sustain the Yellow Breeches
Volunteers are the foundation of Yellow Breeches Anglers & Conservation Association. From raising trout at the nursery to supporting stocking efforts and special events, the dedication of our members makes it possible to continue our conservation mission year after year.
Whether you are an experienced angler or simply someone who cares about the outdoors, there are many ways to get involved.

Volunteer at the Trout Nursery
The YBAC trout nursery depends on volunteers throughout the year to help care for thousands of trout raised for local waters. Volunteers assist with a variety of important tasks, such as:
- Filling and monitoring automatic feeders
- Cleaning screens and equipment
- Assisting with routine maintenance
- Helping maintain the nursery grounds
- Monitoring fish conditions
No prior experience is necessary, and members are always willing to help new volunteers learn. Volunteering is a great way to support the mission of YBAC while building friendships with fellow members who share a passion for fishing, conservation, and stewardship of the Yellow Breeches watershed.

Assist with Trout Stocking
Stocking season is one of the most rewarding and anticipated times of the year for YBAC volunteers. Members play a vital role in helping transport and release trout into sections of the Yellow Breeches Creek and surrounding waters, supporting local fisheries and creating memorable fishing opportunities for the community.
Stocking dates are announced in the club newsletter.
- Volunteers should plan to meet at the YBAC Nursery around 7:00 a.m., when loading of the stocking truck begins.
- From there, you can choose to remain at the nursery and assist with additional truck loads throughout the morning or travel to the designated stocking locations to help distribute and release fish into the stream.

Support Club Events & Activities
Throughout the year, YBAC hosts events and activities that depend on the support of dedicated volunteers.
Outdoor Show
Our annual Outdoor Show is one of YBAC’s most popular events. Volunteers are needed to help with planning, setup, event operations, and teardown.
Pig Roast
Lend a hand at our annual Pig Roast by helping with setup, serving food, welcoming attendees, and assisting with cleanup after the event.
Special Needs Derby
This beloved community event provides a memorable fishing experience for participants and their families. Volunteers help with event preparation, registration, coordination, and day-of activities.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
YBAC is always looking for members willing to share their time and talents. Attend a monthly membership meeting to learn about additional opportunities to support the club’s conservation efforts, educational programs, fundraising activities, and community outreach.
Become a Member
Membership is a great way to support the ongoing work of YBAC and stay informed about volunteer opportunities, meetings, and events. Member contributions help fund nursery operations, equipment maintenance, and conservation efforts throughout the year.
